Abstract: Objective To study the heart protective effect of 1,25(OH)2D3 on diabetic NOD mice Methods A total of 19 NOD mice were enrolled in the study, all of them were treated to be the model of diabetes by injecting CTX, and then randomly divided into 1.25(OH)2D3 group and untreated group.Other 4 BALB/c mice were set as normal controls. Myocardial morphology was observed in all three groups after 4 weeks. Results The Electronic microscopic findings showed that after the treatment of four weeks with 1.25(OH)2D3, the heart pathological changes were markedly reduced as compared with those diabetic mice untreated by 1.25(OH)2D3. Conclusion Treatment with 1.25(OH)2D3 can reduce the injury of the heart and prevent the pathological progress of structure of heart in NOD mice.
