Abstract: To establish an animal model imitating clinical sign of liver metastasis after eradicative resection of colorectal cancer, the human colon cancer cells were inoculated into the spleen of BALB/c nude mice, then the spleens were resected 5 minutes later. On the 30th day of postoperation , we found that the incidence of liver metastases was 100% , however no metastatic noudle was observed in extrahepatic organs. Histological examination showed that the metastases were poorly differentiated colon adenocarcinoma. The results indicated that the experimental method used to establish the model was successful.
