Abstract: Traditional biomedical model animal is easy to manage in the experimental facility, which can be quickly and efficiently applied to the basic study of human disease related genes. However, in some cases, they cannot represent the complexity of human physiology. Pig is highly similar to human beings in anatomy and physiology, and widely used in related research on human diseases. In this review, we summarized the present progress of pigs as human infectious disease model, and the characterization of disease infection model.
