The purpose of this study is to develop a new way to transfer extrinsic gene to vein graft. The models of carotid-jugular bypass were prepared in rabbits. The human wild-type p53 gene adeno-associated virus plasmid vector was transfected into vein graft mediated by the cationic liposome DOSPER by using intraluminal pressure perfusion method. The gene expression was determined by polymerase chain reaction technique and immunohistochemistry. It was verified that the extrinsic p53 gene was transduced into vein graft successfully and expressed mRNA and p53 protein. The results suggested that intraluminal pressure perfusion method is one of the efficient means for vein autograft gene transfer system.

To analyze the polymorphism of the mtDNA D-loop in pigs,a pairs of primers were designed to amplify mtDNA D-loop of Xishuangbanna Small-ear pig, Guizhou miniature Xiang pig, Guangxi Bama miniature pig,Rongchang pig,Lang Yorkshire and Landrace. The amplification products were digested by 23 restriction enzymes and detected by 2% agarose gel. Clear amplification band were obtained, and the fragment length was the same as that of being reported before. No polymorphism was found among or in stocks. The results suggested that there is no polymorphism in porcine mtDNA D-loop RFLP,therefore it is not suitable as a method for the differentiation of the breed or stock in swine.

By observing biochemical markers and bone minerals content, it was found that subtotal nephrectomized rats by Platt’s method could give rise to chronic renal failure (CRF). Moreover, as renal failure was deteriorating, bone disease began to appeared. Hyperparathyroidism, hyperphosphatamia, hypocalcemia, and degradation of bone mineralization were occurred. It was demonstrated that the model could imitate the manifestations of secondary bone disease in human with CRF.The model is useful for the screening of effective medicine for the treatmont of chronic renal failure and secondary hyperparathroidism and bone disease.

Variables on mandible of adult
M. mulatta
in Taihang mountains have been measured and calculated. Allometric analysis between variables on the mandible and maximum cranial length has been made.Comparison and cluster analysis on variable of mandible among Henan, Hunan and Hubei,Fujian and Guangdong provinces in China have been made. The results showed that correlative coefficients between variables on the mandible and maximum cranial length are lower (|r|<0.7). Mandible of
M. mulatta
in Taihang mountains is the robustest. The distance between Henan and Hunan and Hubei provinces is nearer than Henan and Fujian and Guangdong.

The polymorphisms of 4 serum protein loci, prealbumin (PA),esterase (ES),amylase (AM)and alkaline phosphatase (AKP) of 26 Banna miniature pigs were investigated by using the method of vertical polyacrilamid gel electrophoresis (PAGE). The genotype frequencies, gene frequencies and indexes of genetic diversity were calculated. The results showed that the prepondant genes of the above-mentioned 4 loci were PA

The results of the preliminary observation on antifertility pharmacodynamics of tripchlorolide (T4) in male rhesus monkeys and reversibility of fertility after cessation of the treatment was reported. Twelve sexually mature male rhesus monkeys were randomly divided into 4 groups. T4 was adminstered orally at daily doses of 50, 25,10,0 μg/kg,6 times a week, for 8 consecutive weeks. Necrospermia, azoospermia or severe oligozoospermia(<1×10
6
/ml) was ob-serueed at the end of 8th,7th and 5th week of treatment in the treated groups respectively. Bending of midpiece and separation of the head and tail were found in the silver stained preparations of ejaculated spermatozoa after treatment, however, sperm head morphology was still almost normal. During the T4- treatment period, there were no significant differences in the spontaneous ejaculatory frequency, electroejaculatory response, ejaculate weights, testicular volume, serum testosterone levels and seminal fructose concentration in treated groups as compared with the control. However, the carnitine content of seminal plasma changed nonuniformly in T4-treated animals. Sperm density and viability were restored to normal levels at 10th, 8th,and 4th week after cessation of treatment in 3 treated groups respectively. The finding on reversibility of fertility was confirmed by mating test. The results showed that Tripchlorolide possesses reversible antifertirity effect in male rhesus monkeys at the tested doses.

An enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was developed for the detection of antibodies to Lymphocytic Choriomeningitis virus,Sendai virus,Pneumonia virus of Mouse and Reovirus type Ⅲ by using Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugates of rabbit antibody against hamster IgG (HRP-IgG) in golden hamster sera. The results were compared with HRP conjugates of Staphylococcus proteinA(HRP - SPA) ELISA. The specificity and sensitivity of the HRP-IgG ELISA are higher than those of the HRP-SPA ELISA. Therefore,it is recommended that the HRP-IgG ELISA procedure could be used as a routine method for the monitoring of viral infections in hamster colonies.

carcinoma cell lines and 0.2ml normal saline as control. Fourteen days after the injection, blood samples were collected for the examinaton of serum calcium. Bone mineral density(BMD)was detected under anesthetized condition, and the pathological changes of tibia were also observed. Results showed that serum calcium level raised significantly after the injection of the carcinoma cells, while BMD decreased markedly in model rats as compared with control ones. The bone structure was also damaged after the injection. The experiment verified that Walker

Some parameters of hametology and serum biochemistry were detected in NZB、NZW and (NZB×NZW)F1 mice. The results showed that there were significant differences in platelet and white blood count between the sexes of the 3 strains,it was also observed in the activities of AKP、AST and ALT. The results suggested that the characteristics in hametology and serum biochemistry of the 3 strains may be related to their deficiency in autoimmunity.
