Abstract: By observing biochemical markers and bone minerals content, it was found that subtotal nephrectomized rats by Platt’s method could give rise to chronic renal failure (CRF). Moreover, as renal failure was deteriorating, bone disease began to appeared. Hyperparathyroidism, hyperphosphatamia, hypocalcemia, and degradation of bone mineralization were occurred. It was demonstrated that the model could imitate the manifestations of secondary bone disease in human with CRF.The model is useful for the screening of effective medicine for the treatmont of chronic renal failure and secondary hyperparathroidism and bone disease.
