Abstract: To establish the rat model of Chemotherapy-induced anorexia (CIA) with cisplatin (DDP),the food consumption, the body weight and stool had been observed for 4 days. Then the rats were injected ip DDP(0. 5mg/ml)5mg ·kg-1 at the fifth day, thereafter the rats were in-jected DDP once again. The body weight, the gastric mucosal lesion score, gastrointestinal tract hematoxylin-eosion staining and 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT) expression were also determined. The rat’s food consumption was decreasing immediately from the first day of injection DDP, and some of rats even ate nothing. But at the fourth day the food consumption began to increase,we found there were gastric mucosal lesion, weight loss, inflammation in gastrointestinal tract, rise of 5-HT expression in model group. It was suggested that the rat model of CIA can be established by using DDP.
