Abstract: Multi-infartion dementia rat models have alterations in many aspects,such as praxiolo-gy，pathophysiology，biochemical metabolism，neurotransmitter，hemorheology, and gene exprt’s sion.The model can be used to study vascular dementia because its pathomorpluhological manifes tation is similar to the clinical one. By reviewing related literatures ,the authors think that the an-imal models need further consummation in order to be applied in experimental study better. This is the fundamental assurance for assessing the action of the prescription and its mechanisms accu-rately.
