In order to establish a new long bone deficit model of large animal,an instrument,inter-locking medullary nail,is developed and manufactured according to anatomy datas of the goat, and then applied to fix the goat’s femoral deficit.Radiographic, macroscopic and histologic observations showed that the long bone deficit model of goat is worth wide applying to large animals.

PML-RARA transgenic (Tg) mice developed acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL) with APL features which provided us with a powerful model to further our study on the mechanism of APL. Tg mice were observed and peripheral blood(PB) analysis was done at scheduled time. Tg mice of different ages were picked up and sacrificed. Phenotypic analysis showed that the course of APL development could be divided mainly into three stages:pre-leukemic stage, early leukemia stage and advanced leukemia stage. Phenotypic features which is specific for each stage could be observed. Thus, screening of Tg mice by using phenotypic analysis (cytologic analysis of PB and bone marrow(BM),histo-pathology of BM)make it possible for us to pick up the Tg mice at those different stages which is crucial for the study of genetic changes during the development of APL.

To explore the development of a standard closed fracture in rat tibia, a modi-fied apparatus was designed and tested on 62 female SD rats. The tibia was treated with an intramedullary Steinmann’s pin and then was fractured by the apparatus. The frac-ture type and displacement was observed by X-ray and the fracture healing was detected histologically. The fractures were transverse or transverse with a small oblique compo-nent in 92 cases with the success rate 74.2%. Histologically the fracture was healed in secondary. The closed fracture model of rat tibia made by the apparatus is highly repro-ducible,easy to make, and is a standard model.

To establioh rabbit model of Perthes disease and study its radiological appear-ance. A rabbit model was developed by new type of operative methods after the ligmen-tum teres was divided and retinacular blood suplies of femoral head were resected. The model was evaluated by X-ray, MRI and pathological examination. The results showed that the model has some characteristics similar to human Perthes disease. Therefor, the rabbit model of Perthes disease made by this operative method could successfully replicate the basic appearance of Perthes disease.

To establish a rat model of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome,a total of 18 immature female rats were randomly divided into three groups:ovarian hyperstimulation group, superovulation group and control group.According to our modification of Ujioka method, six rats in ovarian hyperstimulation group were given a subcutaneous injection of 10 IU pregnant mare serum gonadotropin (PMSG) in 0.lml 0.9% saline for 4 consecutive days, then given 100 IU human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG)in0.1ml 0.9% saline on the fifth day(26th day of life). In superovulation group, six rats were given 10 IU PMSG at the time indicated above on the 24th day of life, and were given 10 IU HCG 48 h later (26th day of life). In control group, the rats were given the same dosage of 0.9% saline for 4 consecutive days, from the 22nd day to 26th day of life. 72 h after HCG injection, 0.1ml 1% EB was injected into each rat by tail vein in order to determine the peritoneal capillary permeability.30 min after the last injection , we found that ovarian weight, peritoneal EB level and ascitic score of ovarian hyperstimulation group were significantly higher than those of superovulation group and control group(
P
<0.001respectively).These results demonstrated that the establishment of rat model of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome was successful and may be useful for research on the pathogenesis of the ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome in the future.

,Vero cell and embryonated egg cell. The proliferation of CPV was detected with PCR,HA and ELISA.The result showed that the PCR is more sensitivity than HA and ELISA for detecting the proliferation of CPV. It was suggested that PCR should be a Choice for detecting the proliferation of CPV growing in some kind of cells.

To establish a model of acute hemorrhagic-necrotizing pancreatitis (AHNP) in rats for evaluating therapy, the rats were chalanged by homogeneous injection of 1 ml of 3 percent sodium taurocholate beneath the pancreatic capsule. The results showed that pancreatic hemorrhage and necrosis were observed within half an hour of the operation.Serum amylase and pancreatic tissue TNFα levels were peaked 24 hours later and maintained for 24 hours. Histological injury and progressively increased TNFa levels of liver and lungs were observed subsequently. Two-day mortality of this model was zero. The mortality was gradually increased and reached to 90% after one week. The results suggested that the AHNP rat models established were accompanied by multiply organ injury. The severity of AHNP is progressive with finite one-week mortality rate. The model resembles the natural course of human severe acute pancreatitis (SAP) and may be suitable for evaluating therapeutic study on SAP.

Twenty four Taihang rhesus macaques (Macaca mulatta mulatta)’skulls were collected and measured. Statistical test were showed that of all 20 variables 8 have significant sex differences. Six skull sex discriminant functions were set up by Fisher’s method, whose discriminant rate ranges from 87.5%-91.7%.The results confirmed the functions were suitable for sex discrimination of skulls which have different damage degree, and suggested their high application values in practice.
