Abstract: To investigate the therapeutic effect of ¹³¹I-iodinated oil internal radiation on glioma,¹³¹I-iodinated oil was injected sector-shapely into tumor model of C6 glioma in rat with arc-needle, mate hed with routine straight-needle injection,the therapeutic effect induced by ¹³¹I-iodinated oil intraleision radiation in the carcinoma models we rerecorded through survival time, body weight, the size of local carcinoma and detected by histopathological examination. The Results showed that the rats in arc-needle injection of ¹³¹I-iodinated oil in C6 glioma at subcutis could increase rat's survival time, the body weight kept less desent, the lumps necrosed wholely. Pathological and ultrastructural detection revealed that the cell necrosis and collapse, sever nuclear damage was observed in the death cells. The early characteristics of necrosis such as margination of heterochromatin was also found in some tumor cells. Besides, well differentiated tumor cells, deg enerative tumor cells and some lymphocytes were seen. Conclusion arc-needle inj ection of ¹³¹ I-iodinated oil step-by step and sector-shapely into tumor was a better method, necrosis was the major effect of ¹³¹I-iodi nated oil internal radiation in carcinoma at the level of treated dosage.
