Two strains of histo-incompatible outbred rats, male SD rats (as graft recipient)and female Wistar rats (as skin donor) were used. The back of SD rats was burned in third degree by hot pressing and a large piece of allograft from Wistar rats transplantation was performed 3 days after burn. Then the dressing at the operative sites was changed at 4,7,14,21, and 28 days after operation. The results indicated that this model not only resembles the clinical procedures in treatment of severe burn but also has lower mortality of skingraft. The model is stable and reproducible.

Three days after the HBsAg-specific cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTL) were injected into the HBV transgenic mice, acute liver injury similar to human acute hepatitis was observed in CTL injected mice by histopathological and immunohistochemistry methods. The results indicate that HBsAg - specific CTL plays an important role in the liver injury triggered by host cell immunoresponse.

Eighteen healthy hybrid pups weighing 0.8 to 1.2kg at the age of 21 to 28 days old were divided randomly into three groups as follows :① Operative group : under general anaesthesia, the broadest muscle of back, greater Pectoral muscle and external oblique muscle of abdomen were subjected to overlapping suture at one truncal side and shortened by 2.5 to 3cm. The spine became scoliosis after operation and the concave side was at operation side. Two months after operation , the suture was loose and the scoliosis was disappeared gradually.② Forced lateral position group : the dogs were fixed and made it lateral position at the sand bag for 4 to 8 weeks. The muscle of compressed region were suffered from niyoischeimia, degeneration, adhesion and cicatricial contracture. The spine became fixed scoliosis and convex to the other side (cobb's 17°- 33°) and ③ Control group : the dogs were freely lived during the experiment. All the dogs of this group were without scoliosis. The results showed that the forced lateral position for certain time can make the pups to muscle contracture scoliosis. The characteristics of scoliosis and the cytological changes of muscle in compression region were the same as human idiopathic scoliosis. It indicated that the aetiology of idopathic scoliosis has a close relation with forced lateral positon during infantile period.

The pregnant SD rats were divided into 4 groups as follows: group A and group B, passive smoking for 2h everyday in isolator from 1st and 10th day to 20th day after mating;group C, the control group without passive smoking under normal condition; and group D, the control group without passive smoking, placed in isolator for 2h everyday. The results showed that there were significant difference between group A,B, and group C in the average body weight of live fetal rats (2.0±0.71,2.82±0.50g vs 3.74±0.40g),the incidence of IUGR (87%, 59.6% vs 5%), the average body length (2. 84±0.42,3.24±0.30cm vs 3.94±0.22cm) and the average weight of placenta (0.48±0.12, 0.50±0.llg vs 0.6±0.40g) . There is no difference between control group C and D. The early resorption rate of embryo and fetal death rate of group A and B were 32.4% and 19. 2% , which were significantly higher than that of control group C and D (3.45% and 4.19% ), this suggests that passive smoking even threaten the survival of fetal rat. These results showed that the IUGR rat model established in isolator was easy to control, could be easily repeated, short in experimental period and high in incidence of IUGR.

Male mice were treated with cyclophosphamide (CY) and then serially mated to superovulated female mice over the whole spermatogenic cycle. Chromosome preparations were made from fertilized ova obtained from the mating. No chromosomally abnormal ova were found in mating using untreated animals, but mating involving CY - treated males induced a variety of abnormalities. The most sensitive stage in the spermatogenic cycle was 8 days after treatment, corresponding to the testicular sperm stage of spermatogenesis. The spermatozoa concentration and activity in mice treated with CY at the same stage were not significantly inhibited, but the fertilizing ability of sperm in vitro was decreased, as well as the embryo development was remarkably delayed as compared to those in controls (P<0. 01).

"Electrocardiogram of six leads including I , H , I .aVL.aVR and aVF was recorded and analysed in 180 Beagle canines at different ages. It was found that there was definite difference in heart rate ,P —R interval and Q —T interval for different age. Heart rate was slower,P — R and Q —T intervals were longer in older canines than those in younger canines, but there wasn’t obvious difference in QRS interval. "

The morphological method was used to observe the eighty nonmetric traits of nineteen skulls of rhesus monkey from Taihang mountain region. The results suggested that the main cranial shape is sphenoid (52.94%),the next is brisoid (35.29%). The shapes of most orbits are round (63.16% ). The shapes of foramen occipitale magnum have great variation. In every segment of sagittal suture, the appearances of closureoid are higher. The main shape of coronal suture and lambdoid suture are undulant. Metopic sutures were ob served in low rate (26.32%).

Serum IgG antibody from rabbits artificially infected with Borrelia burgdorferi was detected with new — established Dot — ELISA,routine ELISA,IFA and CF, respectively. Ten serum samples from infected rabbits were examined, the results of Dot — ELISA showed 100%,90% and 70% coincidence with routine ELISA,IFA and CF respectively. while to 12 serum samples from healthy rabbits,it showed 100% coincidnce with ELISA, IFA and CF. All these suggested that Dot —ELISA may be a simple and convenient method for detecting serum IgG antibody against human and animal Lyme disease.

Electrocardiograms (ECG) of one hundred conventional FMMU albino guinea pigs under narcosis were analysed. The results were as follows :①The main waves of QRS were always downstroke in all aVR leads and some aVL leads. However, the waves of P and T were upside - down. While in the other leads, the main waves of QRS were upstroke, and the waves of P and T appeared upright,②S — T segments were easier to be noticed, and ③ There was no significant difference in ECG parameters between FMMU albino guinea pigs and ordinary pigmented guinea pigs.

To study the difference in structure and function of arteries between SHR and WKY rats and its role in the development of hypertension, systolic blood pressure (SBP) was measured using tail - cuff technique. The vascular reactivity was studied with rings of thoracic aorta and mesenteric arteries isolated from rats. Wall/lumen area ratio (W/L) of the two arteries was assessed by morphometry. The results showed that the SBP was significantly higher in SHR than in WKY rats at the age of 16 weeks (28.24± 1.12kPa vs 17.15±0.75 kPa, P<0.05), The W/L of both aorta and mesenteric arteries was markedly higher in SHR than in WKY rats (aorta :0.33±0.03vs0.24± 0.05,P<0.05; mesenteric arteries: 0.75±0.09 vs 0.26土0.02,P<0.05). The results suggested that the remolding of vascular structure play an important role in the development of hypertension in SHR and the alteration of vascular function was closely related to the development of hypertension.
