Observations on the Nonmetric Traits of Skull in Rhesus Monkey from Taihang Mountain Region

Abstract: The morphological method was used to observe the eighty nonmetric traits of nineteen skulls of rhesus monkey from Taihang mountain region. The results suggested that the main cranial shape is sphenoid (52.94%),the next is brisoid (35.29%). The shapes of most orbits are round (63.16% ). The shapes of foramen occipitale magnum have great variation. In every segment of sagittal suture,the appearances of closureoid are higher. The main shape of coronal suture and lambdoid suture are undulant. Metopic sutures were ob served in low rate (26.32%).
