Abstract: Two strains of histo-incompatible outbred rats, male SD rats (as graft recipient)and female Wistar rats (as skin donor) were used. The back of SD rats was burned in third degree by hot pressing and a large piece of allograft from Wistar rats transplantation was performed 3 days after burn. Then the dressing at the operative sites was changed at 4,7,14,21, and 28 days after operation. The results indicated that this model not only resembles the clinical procedures in treatment of severe burn but also has lower mortality of skingraft. The model is stable and reproducible.
