The portal circulation was reduced by partial occlusion of the superior mesen-tcric artery, and the consequent influences on superoxide dismutase (SOD) and or-gans functions were studied. The results showed that there was a marked reduction in SOD contents in the liver, lung and blood accompanics by the functional impai-rment of the organs damage after ischemia and reperfusion.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the mouse H-2 genetic loci of inbred strains by analysing the expression rate of host sensitive lymphocyte interleukin-2 receptor with immunohistochemistry method. C 57BL/6 male adult mice were used as animal model in the experiment. Standard assay of histocompatibility (skin grafts) in the mice had been finished before, in which fresh allogenic bone (from DBA/2) and isogenic bone (from C57 BL/6) were transplanted. The experiment results were comparable to the standard assay for evaluating the histocompatibility of the inbred strain of mouse. The results suggested that the interleukin-2 receptor expression assay can be used as one of the methods for the genetic monitoring of inbred mice.

Specific pathogen free KM mice were obtained from Cesarean section. Random mating system (rotational mating) was established to produce and maintain the mice in the barrier system. The growth rate and reproductive performance and genetic profiles were measured and detected in the fifth and tenth generation of the random mating groups. The results were compared with those of the chance mating group, and was verified that the random system mating method is an important measure for the maintenance of out bred colonies.

After 7 years' selective breeding and large scale production, the physiognomy features and reproductive performance of B: CBWR rabbit were gradually stablized. The average pregancy rate of one time mating, gestation period, litter size were 81.89%, 31.19±0.13 days, 8.00±0.06 respectively. The average litter weight at 21 day age is 1765.17±27.07g; At 45 day age, the average weanling litter size and weight are 5.38±0.09,1263.29±13.27 g respectively. The average daily gain is 31.03±7.14g within 5 weeks after weaning. The average weight of replacement rab-bits at 60 days is 3930.00 士336.53 g for the male, 4012. 50±325.00 g for the fe-male, the average trunk index is 66.07±3.48.

The transplantable hydrothoracic-ascitic fluid type lymphocytic leukemia L 845 model was from the spontaneous leukemia of a T 739 mouse transplanted successfully on syngenic mice. After 9 years of successive transplantation of L 845, the biological and pathological characteristics were found to be relatively stablized. All the T

mice inoculated i.p with the hydrothoracic or ascitic fluid of the leukemia produced ascite and the tumor cells can pass through peritoneal membrane and mesenteric lymph node, and spread to the mediastinum,100% of the inoculated mice can produce hydrothoracic fluid. No spontaneous disappearance was observed in tumor bearing mice. Besides, the efficacy of the 18 different kinds of anticancer drug were studied in the leukemia mice, all the drugs showed to have apparent therapeutic effects.

Plateau pika (
Ochotona curzoniae
) is one kind of newly developing laboratory animals .Forty-two healthy pika (22 males and 20 females) from the fifth-generation of closed colony were measured for the weights of main internal organs. There was no significant difference statistically between the weight of organs in the male and female.Comparing with other laboratory animals, the relative weights of the heart and lung of plateau pika didn,t show obvious increase, this suggested that plateau pika adapted the plateau habitats by some mechanisms which have no relation to weights increase of its heart and lungs. Plateau pika was very well developed in intestinal system (almost 12 times as long as its bodylength), especially in caecum (1.78 times as long as the body-length and has 57 circles of spiral ridges), these were important characteristics for the pika to adapt the food resources under plateau environments.
