Abstract: "An experimental model of acute renal failure (ARF) has been developed by injection of oleic acid to left renal artery of rat. The changes of microcirculation and parenchyma cells of rat kidney were observed at 10 minutes, 6 and 24 hours after the injection. Following the injection, the elasticity of renal pulsing blood vessels became weaker and tense was elevated, renal tissue blood flow remarkably decreased, the severe edema and necrosis of renal microvessel endothelium cells were found, TTC staining occurcd intensive positive, tubular necrosis, BUN was significantly elevated. These results demonstrated that an experimental model of ARF in rat could be induced by injection of oleic acid to left renal artery. Tbis model was chara-cterized by the disturbance of kidney microcirculation. "
