Abstract: Objective To measure spontaneous tumorigenesis, hematological, and serum biochemical parameters of Wistar rats feeding for two years. Methods Wistar rats feeding for two years were killed to determinate peripheral blood and serum biochemical parameters, and spontaneous tumorigenesis was also investigated. Results Wistar rats were raised in GLP laboratory for two years, the cancer of skin, hypodermis and adipose tissue was widespread, tumorigenesis of nervous or genital system was also observed, and tumorigenesis of digestive system was found in male rats. Compared with female rats, parameters of white blood cells (WBC), mean corpuscular volume (MCV), alkaline phosphatase (ALP), albumin (Alb), glucose (Glu), total cholesterol (CHO), creatine kinase (CK) were changed obviously in male rats. Conclusion Normal reference range of Wistar rats feeding for two years was set up in order to evaluate rodent animals carcinogenicity for new drug.
