In November, 2022,Laboratory Animal and Comparative Medicine (LACM, ISSN 1671-5817) is included by the most influential open access journal database in the world - Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ). It is the first and the only Chinese journal in the field of laboratory animal and comparative medicine included by the database.
DOAJ is one of the most famous literature retrieval systems as PubMed, SCI, Scopus and EI, and the largest database that only indexes open access journals, of which the high quality full-texts are always free for readers. All journals in the database are academic and scientific with a high value for the global scientific community.
DOAJ has very strict selection criteria, and conducts in-depth and detailed review on basic information, open access policy, copyright and licensing policy, editing policy, peer review process, business model, transparency and best practices and other aspects of journals. Only journals with highest standards have opportunity to be included by DOAJ.
The inclusion of Laboratory Animal and Comparative Medicine in DOAJ is a milestone after its inclusion of CA, Ulrichsweb, CAB Abstracts and Global Health, ICI world of journals and ICI Master Lister, marking that the academic quality, publishing policy and scientific contribution of this journal have been increasingly recognized by the international academic publishing community. Hopefully the impact of the journal shall keep going up in the future.
