• Instruction for Authorship

    This journal recommends authors to describe their contributions use the framework of “Contributor Role Taxonomy – CRediT.” For authors, CRediT means making the contributions of individual researchers transparent, with a justified order of authorship. In fact, this is also a manifestation of scientific research integrity. For readers and scientific research managers, CRediT allows them to understand the specific roles of each author in the research work, facilitating the search for collaborators or the evaluation of research. For journals and their editors, CRediT helps identify improper submissions, avoid wastage of effort, and assist in resolving any potential authorship disputes. The CRediT defines 14 roles of authors.

    Therefore, before publishing scientific research results, please clarify the roles of all participants as contributors, which include 14 types: conceptualization, data curation, formal analysis, funding acquisition, investigation, methodology, project administration, resources, software, supervision, validation, visualization, writing-original draft, and writing-review & editing.

    Following the recommendations of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) as outlined in the “Recommendations for the ConductReportingEditing and Publication of Scholarly Work in Medical Journals” (referred to as “ICMJE Recommendations”, cited from the Chinese version of ICMJE 2019 published in issue 5 of Laboratory Animal and Comparative Medicine in 2020), authorship must simultaneously meet the following four criteria:

    (1) Make significant contributions to the conception or design of the study, or the acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of data for the study;

    (2) Draft the research paper or critically revise it for important intellectual content;

    (3) Approve the final version to be published;

    (4) Agree to be accountable for all aspects of the work, ensuring that questions related to the accuracy or integrity of any part of the work are appropriately investigated and resolved.

    Only contributors who meet all four of these criteria should be credited as authors. Others who have contributed but do not meet all the above criteria should be acknowledged in the “Acknowledgments” section.
