Guideline for Review Article
Following are the general requirements for the writing format of review articles in Laboratory Animal and Comparative Medicine:
1. Please adhere strictly to the format of similar articles published by our journal in 2024 for careful standardization and modification.
2. The title should be specific, clear, and concise, not too broad or general, within 20 Chinese characters.
3. The authorship and affiliations must be confirmed without dispute at the time of submission, especially as no changes will be made after acceptance. The affiliation should be specific to the department or secondary organization, and the city and postal code should be provided. The first author and corresponding author should be introduced in detail at the bottom of the first page, including year of birth, gender, educational qualification, professional title, research direction, E-mail, and ORCID. The contact details of all signing authors must be registered in the submission system of the journal.
4. The abstract for review articles should be non-structured. It should briefly introduce the research background of the field, highlight the research significance, and then introduce the main content of the review. The abstract should be as complete and substantial as possible to reflect the content of the full text, preferably in a longer paragraph of over 500 Chinese characters.
5. The English abstract should be polished and refined, completely consistent with the content of the Chinese abstract. The English expression should be grammatical and accurate.
6. The article structure should be section-numbered, and subsection titles should be hierarchical, logical, and organized. The review of related literature should not only list the research progress but also include the author's logical interpretation, preferably with summaries and conclusions in figures or tables, including relevant research progress, experiences, and in-depth and unique thoughts and insights from the research group.
7. All English acronyms in the text should be given their full Chinese and English names upon their first occurrence. Subsequent mentions should use the acronym.
8. All punctuation marks in the text should be standardized, as should all physical quantities and their unit symbols.
9. All figures and tables should be original whenever possible. If citing figures and tables from published literature, permission for re-publishing must be obtained from the original authors and the publishing journal (copyright holder). Please provide the editorial office with an email or scanned copy of the permission proof.
10. All figures and tables must include titles, annotations, and headings in both Chinese and English. The English titles should be consistent with the Chinese one, followed by a Chinese annotation.
11. Authors must carefully read and polish the wording of the manuscript, ensuring that the expression is accurate, rigorous, clear, fluent, and readable. The manuscript should be personally reviewed by all signing authors before signing the copyright agreement and can only be accepted for publication after this review.
12. Prior to the references section at the end of the article, a statement outlining the contributions of all signing authors and any conflicts of interest must be included.
13. Authors are required to double-check all references to ensure accuracy and consistency with the citations in the text. The number of references in a review should be no more than 50, with over 60% of them published in the last three years. References should be formatted strictly according to the journal’s requirements. Chinese references must include English translations. Finally, please attach the retrieval address or original link of each reference, as well as the DOI numbers.
