Collaborated on the world's first subclinical study of genetically edited pig liver and lung transplantation into humans. Collaborated on Asia's first clinical study of genetically edited pig kidney transplantation into a patient; the pig kidney functioned for 261 days in the patient, representing the second-longest survival record for a pig kidney in a human recipient internationally. Collaborated on the world's first successful extracorporeal perfusion therapy for liver failure using a genetically edited pig liver; following 66 hours of continuous treatment, the patient's condition was favorable with significant improvement in major liver function indicators, providing a novel strategy for future clinical treatment of end-stage liver disease and bridging therapy prior to liver transplantation.
