Abstract: Objective To establish the rat model of Multiple Organ Dysfunction Syndrome (MODS) caused by trauma. Method Sixty SD rats were divided randomly to MODS model group and control group. The rats of the MODS model group were scalded at 30% TBSA Ⅲ degree and injected with large amount of LPS 6 hour later. The mortality in 7 days, the blood ALT,CK,BUN, fasting glucose and TNFa, NO, IL-6 of MODS rats were observed or determined. Results The mortality in 7 days of the MODS rats was 53.33%. The blood ALT, CK, BUN, fasting glucose and blood TNFa, NO, IL-6 of the MODS rats were higher than that of the control. Conclusion Serious scalded rats with large amount of LPS injected can represents a characters of MODS.
