Abstract: It is necessary to prepare suitable animal model for the study of hypoxic-ischemia reperfusion brain damage. Bilateral common carotid arteries in 7-day-old SD rats were clipped by mini vascular clips for 1 hour，at the same time, placed rats into the hypoxic device for 2 hours to prepare the neonatal model with hypoxic-ischemia feperfusion brain damage. The model was proved to be successful according to pathological exams，the characteristic expression of cyclooxygenase-2 gene and the fine recanalization of the common carotid arteries.
