Abstract: To determine the changes of function and histopathology of liver during developing cirrhosis in Mini-pigs,12 Mini-pigs were fed with the food of high grease, low protein and choline, and carbon tetrachloride (CCL4),fenobarbital and alcohol were added. Function and histopathology of liver were detected every 4 weeks. 12 pigs were all induced to form cirrhosis after 16 weeks, of which 7 pigs were grade Ⅲ and 5 grade Ⅳ , according to Madden standard. The results showed that the model established was easy to develop , with high rate of success, low rate of death, and obvious staging in histopathological changes.
