Abstract: We have successfully established a highly metastatic model of human melanoma in scid mice （SCI-375）. The selection of metastasis was obtained by using successively subcutaneous implantation of lungs metastatic tissue in scid mice. The metastatic rates were 100%and 80% respectively in lungs and lymph node from 6-21 passages. The lung metastatic tumors were similar to the original human melanoma in histopathological features and chromosomal karyotype. This metastasis model may be used as a tool for the research on the metastatic mechanism and treatment of the human tumor.
