Abstract: Diabetic ulcers were created artificially on both sides of the backs of diabetic model rats, and the healing course was observed. The results showed that the healing process was poor and prolonged in diabetic rats as compared with control (normal rats with the same ulcers). At day 7 only 40% of the ulcerated areas in diabetic rats were healed,as compared with 70% in control. Up to day 14 all ulcerated areas were healed in control, but in diabetic rats some of the ulcerated areas were still remained unhealed. The results of the pathological observation support the concept of the delayed ulcer healing in diabetic condition.
