Abstract: 810-week-old BALB/c mice of clean category were inoculated with Sendai virus in both IP and O. N. routes, and injected with pentobarbital (60 mg/kg) 1 week after the inoculation. Sleeping durations induced by pentobarbital of the test and control groups were 28.2±11.5, 41.6±9.3 minutes respectively (P<0.01) test group versus control). Hepatic cells of 4~7-day-old mice were cultured, and infected with Sendai virus, then propranolol was added, very significant difference in the propranolol concentration was observed through HPLC between the test and control groups 20 minutes after propranolol being added (P<0.01). This suggested that Sendai virus infection maked the propranolol metabolism suppressed in the hepatic cells.
