ISOLATION AND IDENTIFICATION OF CANINE PAPVOVIRUS

Abstract: "A strain of virus, isolated from a stool specimen of a canine with clinical hemorrhagic enteritis, was confirmed to be Canine Parvovirus by its physicochemical characteristics, analysis of its nuclear acid type, electronic and immunoelcctronic microscopic observation, experimental infection on puppies, hemagglutination test and hemagglutin-ation-inhibition test, and serum neutralization assay. It was found that no fetal bovine serum in the maintaining fluid of the cell culture and inoculation on fresh cells were beneficial to the propagation of this virus. "
