Abstract: "The experiment was carried out from October to December, 1986. 10 adult female rhesus monkeys were divided into five groups and each group includes two monkeys. The monkeys of group B and E had normal menstrual cycles. The menstrual cycles of group A and C were not in consideration and the menstrual cyclcs of group D were induced artificially by 50 mg progesterone and 4 mg PGF 2 a. All monkeys were superstimulated by daily injection of gonadotrophin hormones. Four superstimulated methods were performed. 49 oocytes were collected by the surgical operation in 19~36 hours after hCG treatment. The semen was collected by elcctric-ejaculation 4~6 hours before oocytes collection. The oocytes and semen were prcincubated and fertilized in F-10 medium at 37℃ in a humidified incubutor under 5% CO2 in air. 2 of 8 oocytes showed morphological signs consistent with fertilization 35 h later: a two pronucleus embryo and a morula-staged embryo.
