Abstract: In order to understand the possible effects of a new experimental atherosclerosis model-Guizhou minipigs, the levels of Atrial Natriuretic Factor (ANF), Aldosterone (Aid), Cortisol and cyclic AMP(cAMP) in plasma were evaluated. These minipigs were fed by cholesterol and egg yoik of high dosage for 24-30 weeks. It was found that the level of ANF hadn't any change, level of Ald increased markedly, levels of Cortisol and cAMP decreased significantly. The results indicated that level of ANF was unaffected but level of suprarenal cortex hormones and cyclic neucleotides were correlated with atherosclerosis. The latter .may be more important. We recommend that Guizhou minipigs are perfecter lactation animal on the research of atherosclerosis.
