YAO Ming, with a Ph.D., is a professor and doctoral supervisor. He currently serves as the Principal Investigator of the Experimental Pathology Research Group at the National Key Laboratory of Oncogenes and Related Genes, Shanghai Cancer Institute. He is the editorial board member of Tumour. He also serves as a guest reviewer for several Chinese and SCI-indexed professional journals.
His long-term research focuses on the breeding and application of immunodeficient animals, establishment of cancer animal models especially metastasis models, and the molecular mechanisms of lung cancer development and metastasis.
As the first completer, he has received two second-class and two third-class Shanghai Medical Science and Technology Awards. As a team member, he has received one second-class Natural Science Award and one second-class Scientific Progress Award from the Ministry of Education, as well as one first-class Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award. He has published over 150 SCI-indexed papers, with his team's primary research work published in internationally renowned journals such as Molecular Cancer, Cancer Research, Oncogene, and Theranostics.
