YAN Shunsheng is the Director of the Chinese Association for Laboratory Animal Sciences, Xinjiang Laboratory Animal Research Center and Deputy Director of Xinjiang Disease Prevention and Control Center.

His research focuses on the breeding, reproduction, and domestication of laboratory and wild animals, laboratory biosafety and experimental construction, and genetic biology. He has participated in two national science and technology support plan projects and four National Natural Science Foundation projects. He has led and participated in fifteen regional scientific research projects, receiving funding support of over eight million yuan. He has received two third-class awards in science and technology from the autonomous region.
