• QIN Chuan, Doctor of Medicine, is a doctoral supervisor and long-appointed professor at Peking Union Medical College. He currently serves as the Director of the Institute of Institute of Laboratory Animal Science, CAMS & PUMC, the Comparative Medicine Center at Peking Union Medical College, the National Human Disease Animal Model Resource Center, and Editor-in-Chief of the journal Animal Models and Experimental Medicine.

     

    She has long been engaged in experimental pathology research, focusing on comparative medicine research, and the development and application of animal models for human diseases. He established a series of animal models for Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, AIDS, SARS-CoV, influenza, tuberculosis, hand-foot-and-mouth disease, MERS-CoV, and others, and has received three national science and technology awards. During the COVID-19 research efforts, she led the construction of animal models, establishing the first ACE2 humanized mouse model and Rhesus macaque model for COVID-19. She developed the animal model evaluation system for vaccine and drug efficacy, conducting pharmacological studies on different types of COVID-19 vaccines. She has published a series of research papers as a corresponding author in journals such as Nature, Science, Cell, Nature Medicine, Nature Microbiology, and Nature Communication.
