HE Zhengming is a professor at Chinese Experimental Animal Resources Research Institute for Food and Drug Control. His main research areas include the quality standards and testing methods for laboratory animals, animal welfare, alternative methods for animal experimentation, laboratory animal science management, and the safety evaluation of biotechnological drugs derived from animal sources for human use. He serves as the Editor-in-Chief of Laboratory Animal Science, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Chinese Journal of Modern Applied Pharmacy, editorial board member of China Science & Technology Resources Review and Virologica Sinica ,among others.

He has led and participated in 52 national and provincial/ministerial scientific research projects/topics. As a principal drafter, he has developed and revised 35 national, industrial, and local standards. He has been the Editor-in-Chief (or deputy Editor-in-Chief , or chief reviewer) of 17 academic works and has contributed to (or translated) 27 academic publications. He holds 6 national invention patents.
